We're lucky to have such a sunny and mild January day for our first trip of 2009. Our initial exploration of the day will take the most time due to the longer distance and rougher terrain. However, we've already found the beginning of the old road which will lead us deeper into the designated wilderness area of Joshua Tree National Park in search of our goal, a forgotten and unnamed old mine.
