Niki makes a nice find here! This is the bottom of a Platt's Chlorides bottle. This product was highly touted in the late 1800's as a household disinfectant. It was a colorless liquid that was diluted with water and then sprinkled about the household to supposedly control odor and "destroy disease-breeding matter." Eventually it was proven to be pretty much worthless and the product faded into oblivion.
