After a few more miles we're able to turn off on the dirt access road toward the Harrisburg area. This photo is a view of Aguereberry Camp. Shorty Harris and Pete Aguereberry discovered gold in 1905 at what would come to be called Harrisburg. Soon after that, Pete built a cabin here in 1907. That structure is the one to the far right of the photo. Pete lived at this site until his death in 1945. During that time he worked his Eureka claim and even added the central structure in 1941 for use as a guest cabin. The smaller structure to the left was built in 1946 by Pete's nephew after Pete's death.
