High on the rim of this little bowl, and easy to miss, is a very interesting historic inscription. It reads, "Bill Key 1895," and is embellished with a running bighorn glyph. Bill Key was involved with Death Valley Scotty during his stay in Death Valley and consequently had a "colorful" career in these parts before heading south to what is now Joshua Tree National Park to establish himself as a prominent rancher and miner.
