It's time for our second objective. In his article on Clapp Springs, Delmer Ross relates that a unique tube agate is found to the north of Thumb Peak. These tubes range in color from light tan to a dark grey. They are about three-sixteenths of an inch in diameter and vary in length from an average of three inches to as long as five inches or more. Several museum quality specimens were collected from this area in 1998 and 1999. We always like hunting for stuff so we split up in order to cover more ground and stay in touch via our radios.
