It's easy to let our minds wander back in time as we crunch our way across the flat toward our vehicles.  There's a sadness that the era of these early inhabitants has passed, but in this remote spot the veil of time between the past and present seems wafer thin and it almost feels like for the past few hours they've shared something of themselves with us.
