All the gold and silver was present only in the quartz vein.  We find no remaining trace of the vein on this level of the mine.  We do, however, figure out why the mill tailings were so reddish in color.  The fault zone surrounding the vein is composed of earthy and specular hematite and really produces some vivid colors.
