It was in the late 1800's and early 1900's when ranchers built the rock and concrete dams which have come to be known as the Twin Tanks. However, long before that, the numerous natural tanks here had been used by the Indians. In fact, those white pock marks to the right of Niki are an early form of petroglyph known as cupules. The more modern stone dam above Niki makes for some nice constrast to the ancient cupules below!
