In 1905, a 10 year lease on the mine was negotiated by the Standard Mines Company of Los Angeles and the name changed to the Standard No. 1. Mining operations continued until 1916. During that time a bunk house and boarding house sufficient to house 100 miners were constructed. The camp had a store and even telephone service.
