Where the steep path ends just below the saddle of the hill is the location of the shafts and cuts of the Hard Diggings Mine. We're not going to be able to make it up there. Sometimes you just have to know your limits. We're at ours right now and we still have a couple of waterless miles to go before we reach the Jeep. We'll just have to leave the climb up to the mine for another time.
