For several of us, the hike back was tough, very tough. The hiking that we had done in the heat yesterday probably depleted our electrolytes. We had water, but still the worsening nausea and muscle cramps took their toll. We all went at our own pace, but stayed in touch via radio. We knew that we'd cover each other's back. Still, it was a humbling experience. I've added electrolyte capsules to my pack now. You might want to do the same. Oh, and special thanks to Niki for hauling me up those boulders on the return trip!
