Since we're early for the rendezvous with the Kern County Archaeological Society at the Canebrake Cafe, we've driven past it to do some early morning exploring further up the highway. At the bottom left of the photo you can see Niki's Xterra Off Road, the Chuckwalla, which is the replacement for our now retired Toyota Tacoma. This is the Chuckwalla's first outing so we're interested to see how it does.
