Our best find here is a bit of old machinery with the word "Buffalo" embossed on it. A bit of sleuthing shows that the Buffalo Forge, which operated from 1877 to 1952, manufactured, among other things, blacksmith forges. It also had a subsidiary company, the Buffalo Steam Pump Company, that produced ventilation pumps and gear driven blowers. It's quite possible that this fragment is linked to these manufacturers. After this find, we decide to call this site the Buffalo Mine...it sounds a lot better than the Unidentified Mine Site! heheheh
