It might be that the stone foundation was associated with the late 1800's phase of the mine when it was called Cashier Camp or possibly the early 1900's era when it was called the Exchequer Mine.  These were both working the gold and silver mineralization that was present here.  We decide to wander over to the nearby mill and check that out.
