We're at the White Cap Quarry. This is private property and a working calcium carbonate quarry that is owned by OMYA International. Howard, as chief geologist at the White Knob Quarry in Lucerne Valley, also spends part of his time here at the White Cap. He guaranteed us a flat spot and a scenic location. This proved to be an understatement.
