The water of Havasu Creek is highly mineralized.  This is what causes the spectacular blue-green color.  Another effect of the carbonate precipitate in the water is that it builds walls and forms pools.  Here, and in the next couple of photos, you can see the dams, called pour-offs, that have resulted from the mineral content.  Also, if you look to the right of the falls, you can see what looks like droopy, melting rock.  This is also the result of the carbonate, or lime, in the water that is constantly building and changing the face and the course of the falls.
