An hour of driving along Indian Highway 18 with its sweeping vistas finally brought us to Hualapai Hilltop. This spot is not only the trailhead for hikers but also it's the major hub for those living down the canyons in the village of Supai. Consequently, it's a busy place! Pack trains were being loaded and readied for their trek down to the village, the helicopter was buzzing around, hikers were straggling up the trail and tourists were snapping photos.
